African Black Beetle (Heteronychus arator)

Regular price R 5,880.00

A beetle caught in silver, wings spread.

The Beetle takes the intricacy of the insect and gives it weight. A smooth armoured body sits against finely worked wings, with legs, joints and small anatomical details emerging beneath the polished shell.

There is something beautiful in the contradiction. Delicate wings made permanent. A creature built for movement held for a moment in metal.

Part specimen, part relic, part tiny piece of armour from the natural world. Strange, precious and made to be looked at closely.
